This hand-held model can charge a variety of quartz and carbon fiber direct-reading dosimeters by simply squeezing the lever of a 15,000 volt piezoelectric generator. Does not require batteries. The discharge bulb regulates the voltage to 250 volts and provides a flash to indicate the instrument is operational. Dosimeters are easily loaded and unloaded with the adjustable clamping mechanism.
