Any analog or digital pH meter can be used as the readout for BOD measurements. Measurement range is from 0 to 14 ppm. Accuracy is ±0.05 ppm or 2% of reading, whichever is greater between 15 and 35°C. Time for 96% response is less than 30 seconds. For standardizing, unit uses room air. Electrode unit includes replaceable membrane/electrolyte module, electronic circuits, and thermocompensator. An accessory overflow funnel with built-in stirring bar for measuring of oxygen in BOD bottles is supplied. Unit operates on two Mallory type 10L14 batteries or equivalent.
