Trimmed stem ampules are made from Clear N-51A glass, U.S.P. Type 1 borosilicate, giving maximum solution stability and easy sealing. Score-Break is an easy opening feature for filled, sealed ampules. A score-mark in the constricted portion of the ampule’s stem is the breakpoint of the ampule. To open an ampule, grasp the stem in one hand and the body in the other, placing thumbs tip-to-tip near the constriction. Using thumb tips as a hinge, bend the stem and the body to break the ampule open. A special ampule file is not required.
