Used for IRMA, ELISA and ILMA techniques, and in many diagnostic kits for hormone measurements and infectious disease detection. MiniSorp tubes are commonly used for solution reactions and are ideal for storing immunoassay reagents. Available in polystyrene or polyethylene, with 3 modified surfaces. MaxiSorp polystyrene tubes have a surface with excellent affinity to immunoglobulins and similar proteins. PolySorp polystyrene tubes have a surface that is recommended for adsorption of less polar molecules such as certain viral antigens and lipids, and may reduce high background readings associated with viral and cellular lysates. MiniSorp tubes are molded from a special formulation of polyethylene, have a low affinity for proteins, can reduce nonspecific adsorption compared to ordinary glass or plastic tubes, and can reduce the necessity for blocking agents. StarTubes have star-shaped fins molded into the bottom of the tube to increase surface area for adsorption and mixing efficiency. Provide greater sensitivity and shorter incubation times than other immunotubes. Tube Wash is based on the double cannula principle. 8 cannulas can wash 8 tubes simultaneously. Requires connection to vacuum system and washing solution.
