5-in-1 Water Test

High levels of nitrates in consumed water can be harmful, especially to pregnant mothers and small children. The US EPA has set the maximum contaminant level goal (MCLG) for total nitrate/nitrite at 10.0 mg/L and for nitrite alone at 1.0 mg/L measured as nitrogen. Nitrites in water are especially an issue with well water where nitrites from fertilizers can be found in irrigation water and make their way into well water. The 5-in-1 Water Test semi-quantifies Nitrates (NO₃), Nitrites (NO₂), Total Hardness, Free Chlorine, and pH.
