Instead of the standard 5-day dilution method that requires extensive sample preparation, multiple tests of the same sample, and operator training to run successfully, this respirometry system for BOD measurements is reliable, easy-to-run and requires little technician time. During the sample incubation over 5 days, the pressure sensor in the system measures the pressure changes and automatically stores the data in memory, thereby generating the BOD curve. Any CO2 produced is absorbed by sodium hydroxide and does not affect test results. Interim results can be monitored at any time during the process. The complete system includes measurement heads, amber glass bottles, stirring platform, stir bars, stir bar remover, and sodium hydroxide pellets. Warranty 1 year.
