Rugged Rotator

Heavy-duty motor-drive base accepts heads for a variety of glassware. Variable-speed model adjusts from gentle slosh to rapid agitation. Provides slow rotation for electron microscopy embedding. Suitable for tissue-culture specimens and for blood cell suspensions, avoiding sedimentation and foaming. Continuous-duty motor can stand up to demanding laboratory schedules and perform processes requiring long hours of operation. Locking device securely clamps drive motor in any position from vertical to horizontal. One thumbscrew permits easy changing of heads. Containers remain visible during rotating. Heavy cast-iron base for stability. Size 10""W x 8""D x 9""H. Cord-attached speed control module permits rotator to be used inside constant temperature ovens and hoods while the control is outside.

Furnished complete with a friction-drive test tube head. This aluminum disk is equipped with 30 spring clips to hold test tubes 10 mm to 18 mm in diameter and 15 spring clips to accommodate 20 mm to 30 mm diameter tubes. Either size or a combination of both may be attached to the disk. 120 volt, 50/60 Hz. Riser available to lift rotator so that larger glassware will clear bench. Warranty: 1 year.

Tissue-Culture tube head
Consists of a drum, 12"" in diameter, with 108 spaces for tubes. Angle can be adjusted so that tube contents won’t touch cap while rotating. Designed to hold as many as 108 mini tissue-culture tubes, each up to 16 mm in diameter, for simultaneous rotation. Quickly attaches to any Rugged Rotator and, when mounted, is still compact enough to fit into a table-top incubator: 13""W x 14""D x 13""H (33 x 35.6 x 33 cm).

Test-Tube rack head
Holds a complete rack of stoppered test tubes for rotating end-over-end. Does double duty as a holder for bottles, Erlenmeyer flasks, or other stoppered containers. Head easily attaches directly onto any Rugged Rotator. Retaining plate is polyfoam-lined, making it easy on glassware, and is held by two knurled nuts. Head will hold rack 12"" x 5"" (30.5 x 12.7 cm), with tubes 75-200 mm long. Quick adjustment permits load to be balanced on motor-drive axis.
